Buskers on the Boardwalk is this weekend... starting at 10am Friday morning, and going until Sunday night!
Stephanie at The Hardman Group(they manage Market Square), donated a booth($600 value) to sell the hammocks I'm creating which will turn into sewing machines and play spaces in Uganda this fall.
I'll be there teaching dance hoop tricks and creating a public art displays using glass bottles and metal dug up from a hundred year old trash pile.
We'll also have a clothing rack and stenciling station to raise funds and awareness for Stitch Uganda Together. Bring your unwanted clothes to our booth and we'll giving them out again styled with designs and positive messages that'll make'em fresh. Have you always wanted a t-shirt that says... "enter your idea here"??? ...well here is your chance!
We are seeking plain shirts, t-shirts, pants, skirts, fleece sweaters... no fancy patterns or designs that will be hard to spray paint over. Saint John Leisure services has hired me to do this stencil art at all the playground programs in the city, so whatever doesn't get used at Buskers will be taken to the community centers or given to Romero House.
We'll have an info table at our booth too... for all the good causes and community services in our city. So far we have brochures to hand out from:
